Privacy policy
This policy explains how Velora Joinery & Design ("Velora", "we", "us") handles personal information collected through this website, by phone and by email. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Details you give us through the enquiry form: your name, phone number, email address, suburb, the type of project and any message you write.
- Details you give us when you call or email us, or when we visit to measure and quote.
- The page of our website the enquiry was sent from.
We do not ask for payment card details, government identifiers or other sensitive information through this website.
Why we collect it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, arrange a consultation and measure, prepare a design and quote, carry out and support any work, and meet our legal and accounting obligations. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for unrelated marketing. If we ever want to send you marketing, we will ask first and you can opt out at any time.
Who handles it
- Form delivery. Enquiry form submissions are sent by our own website server to our business inbox, and a copy is kept in a private file on that server so we never lose an enquiry. If our server cannot send an enquiry, the form uses a backup route through FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), a form-to-email service operated outside Australia, so your submission may then be processed overseas on its way to us.
- Website hosting and email. The site and our email are hosted by Hostinger, which may store data on servers outside Australia. Like most hosts, it records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability.
- Chat assistant. The "Chat with us" assistant runs in your browser. What you type is not sent to us or to any third party. Your conversation is kept in your browser for the length of your visit only and is cleared when you close the tab.
- Tradespeople. If we need licensed plumbers, electricians or other trades for your job, we share only the details needed to do the work.
We may also disclose personal information where the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
At the time of writing this site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy. Fonts are served from our own website, not from Google.
Security and retention
This website is served over HTTPS and we limit access to enquiries to people who need them. We keep enquiry and job records for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry or project and to meet legal, tax and warranty obligations, then delete or de-identify them. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information through the form.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing admin@velorajoinery.com.au or calling 0424 622 802. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact us first and we will respond within 30 days. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
